My formal training as a writing coach comes from Eric Maisel, who is recognized as one of the nation's foremost creativity and writing coaches. My informal training comes from working with dozens of authors over the years.
While my specialty is nonfiction books, I also assist writers with fiction and poetry projects. I offer coaching by phone, by email, and in person.
I provide each client with an approach tailored to his or her specific needs, using not only Maisel's principles but also the insights of Julia Cameron (The Artist's Way). In addition to giving you practical tools and strategies, my goal is to bring your own wisdom to the fore so that you can move ahead with your project in the way that is best for you.
"Foremost, the book was written because of the incredible editing and wise words of encouragement of my editor/writing coach Cynthia Anderson."
Karla Freeman, Creating Magic in Midlife (Philogenesis, 2005)
"Cynthia read my 800-page manuscript with intelligence and sensitivity. When she suggested ways in which it might be reduced to 400, I could see the sense in her plan. I was then empowered by her support and encouragement to revise my novel from beginning to end."
Katie Ingram
"Thanks for being my guide and mentor. You stimulated me to get going. The experience was a real confidence builder."
